I suffer from chronic anxiety (no depression here) and I've had the absolute best experience with Effexor
I'm looking for positive experiences
drowsiness
Effexor is an antidepressant that may cause a discontinuation syndrome if abruptly stopped after long-term administration
If you cannot swallow the capsule whole, the capsule may be opened and the contents sprinkled Effexor has begun to make me more extraverted, focused better at work, calmed my anxiety, and stopped my panic attacks
You should not take Effexor if you have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma
Effexor (venlafaxine) withdrawal, a common form of antidepressant discontinuation syndrome, occurs if you abruptly stop taking it
It is also used to treat general anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder
• Venlafaxine (Effexor) has several uses, which may be good for people with multiple conditions
These meds can take 4-6 weeks to fully acclimate in your body
lol you Should start noticing little differences at about the 2 week mar! I noticed it took the edge off after about two weeks but my provider told me it takes about 6-8 weeks to feel its full effects
It's very difficult to get off and the side effects can be literally unbearable
5 for about a year when I switched to 75, and I feel pretty good
Good luck! Saint_Dnvn7x
Currently taking 10 mg of Lexapro after tapering off Effexor earlier this month
SNRIs, especially Effexor due to it having thep shortest half life in its drug class, can be somewhat easy for some to quit, but others experience withdrawl worse then heroin or benzo withdrawals
Hey, I take effexor/venlafaxine for my OCD - mainly Pure O - and depression
No it's not bodyweight dependent suprisingly
When I started on Effexor XR about a year ago, I weighed about 155 lbs (my normal weight when I'm not exercising much or eating that great)
dose is 400 mg 3x daily), ditched the buspar and strattera and added Adderall 20 mg (2x day) and Lorazepam (quantity of 10 pills a month for severe panic, 1 mg each)
Despite being very widely recognized as a non-abusable drug as most anti-depressants
More so now
Like I said know your limit
Effexor I'm up to 225mg/day and I have been holding steady for awhile now
A friend of mine on effexor loves the "upping high" you get when you start/increase the dose
5mg and it took about 3 weeks to start seeing a difference
dreamingmorpheus
I'm used to it now
The medications are also metabolized differently so you may tolerate one better than the other depending on your body

The biggest side effect I found that I had with Zoloft was weight gain, and the biggest one with effexor is probably nausea
Terrible, vivid dreams
I was on 225mg a day, but the headaches were too much so I've been at 150mg for a couple months now
My experience is that lamictal has been great below 200mg (150mg seems to be my sweet spot) and Effexor triggered mixed and hypomanic episodes
I guess it's a good thing as my cravings for alcohol have gone waaaay down
Can confirm i am quitting and even just cbd helps with the symptoms of withdrawal
the only thing to take care of is your personal hygiene

I wanted to detail my experience stopping Effexor and the timeline of effects so that people who want to stop can see what they could be, potentially, in for
I was on 75 mg for a month and felt nothing except night sweats and uncomfortable vivid dreams, so doctor raised me up to 150 mg
I was on other meds and Effexor worked wonders for me, I was much more calm, my sleep was full and restful
After 1-2 months on 75 mg I became
Effexor has begun to make me more extraverted, focused better at work, calmed my anxiety, and stopped my panic attacks
Takes forever to gets off
The most common venlafaxine side effects include: headaches

Effexor XR is used in adults to treat: major depressive According to goodrx
Either way, be strict with yourself and take either tablet first thing in the morning
Hi, I’ve been on venlafaxine for almost four weeks now and I wanted to come on here and share my experience for anyone who is interested in knowing what the first days might look like
If it's going to work, Effexor generally takes somewhere between 1-4 weeks of consistently taking it
I had to take it twice a day just to stave off the brain zaps and when i forgot to refill my prescription I immediately got so dizzy and confused that I could barely get myself to the pharmacy (esp since it rendered me unable to drive)
The side effects have been rough
These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine
I was losing weight prior to starting Effexor due to my anxiety

Lol
The withdrawal is absolutely unbearable! If I missed a tablet, I would experience these horrible electrical zaps in my brain and under my skin as well
Yep, I actually used 75mg as a beginner dose and moved up after a month of being on that, I saw benefits from the 75mg however the effects began to plateau so I had to increase
For me the higher dosage worked better than lower
My doc said she would increase me to 20mg Lexapro if I didn’t start
